Massimo Brignardi

Art historian

An Italian journalist, television author and writer, he was born in Milan on 16 July 1955. Before establishing himself as a professional journalist, in the 1980s he began working in music, starting as an arranger and then devoting himself to the role of columnist and music critic for various periodicals and newspapers. Among these are Radiocorriere TV, Famiglia Cristiana, Avvenire (of which he also became head of the entertainment desk) and Il Sabato. His career continued in 1987 with the writing and subsequent release of the biography of Francesco Guccini, published by Franco Muzzio, and in 2002 with the critical-biographical introduction to the book Giorgio Gaber. Radio continued to be a great passion, and after working for several years as author and presenter he took part in the launch of the Catholic satellite broadcaster Sat 2000, for which he devised and hosted in 2001-2002 the first season of Il grande talk, a series of thirty episodes dedicated to the television genre of the talk show. From the second edition, and until 2005, the program was hosted jointly by Sat 2000 and Rai Educational. In the early 2000s, and in particular from 2004 to 2006, he was the author of eight episodes on the Festival Teatro Canzone Giorgio Gaber of Viareggio broadcast by Rete 4, while since 2005 he has been co-author and host of TV Talk, a well-known Rai Educational program aired on Saturdays on Rai 3. For the latter he comments on the week's television events on the main public and private broadcasters, and for it he also received the Premio Flaiano for Television.
